Our fifth year anniversay this year and we feel that we put together a great lineup for this show! All proceeds once again benefit Lehigh Valley Breast Health Services. The bands that have donated their time are as follows:
1:15 – 2:05pm Bank Street Band DJ’ing the event is none other than DJ Hollywood! Alias Dave Beam from the Airport Music Hall! There is going to be a memorial bike run this year with this event. Registration will begin at 10am with kickstands up at 11am. This ride will take you out for a nice run and stop at Grumpy’s along the way back for a beverage. Then back to The Maingate for the show. This event is 21 and over only. Costs are $8 for the show or $18 for the ride and the show. Our excellent food will be from Up In Smoke BBQ and Goodfellas Pizza in Nazareth. Sound will be provided by R&R Sound. Please go out and support these bands, The Maingate, our food vendors and anyone else involved for donating their time and efforts. Just some updated information….
Hello All!!!!
Just to update you on WE ROCK 2011, the course for the memorial bike run has now been set. Nate Andre has put together a nice ride for all of you along with a stop at a local watering hole, Grumpy’s on your way back to The Maingate. We will start at 10am with registration for the ride and everyone will pull out at 11am. Since this is a rain or shine event, I will check to see if the ride is rain or shine. The cost for the ride and the show is $18, and if you just want to do the ride it is $10. If you want to just go to the show, it is $8. As I get more info on this, I will pass it onto you.
Once again, I want to thank Dominic from The Maingate for allowing us to come back this year for our event. The bands that are donating their time, The Cherry Bombs, The Damn Dirty Apes, Jade Scott of Type 14, The Bank Street Band, Ambergris, Social Call, and Slik Helvitka, a huge thank you goes out to you! Please go out and support these local acts. I will be posting up more information on these acts in the upcoming weeks.
I also want to thank Stacy Smith of Mad Dr Sound for providing sound this year. Stacy has become a good friend and has been a big help with both WE ROCK events. Please show Stacy some support when looking for sound for your upcoming gigs.
Food will be provided, and no, it is not free, by Up In Smoke BBQ and Goodfellas Pizza. If you are having a private event, and you want a great BBQ picnic, make sure that you get ahold of Chris at Up In Smoke BBQ. Damn it is good. I might just have to call him today to see if he is doing any smoking this weekend so I can get some of that stuff! Goodfellas is located on Main Street in Nazareth PA. Joe has some really good food happening here. Pizza, wings, and steak sandwiches are my favorite. A friendly wait staff and they also have delivery.
I also want to thank my staff for the event this year. Donna Zimmerman, who is a bit under the weather right now, always calls herself “my bitch”. She has been the right hand man of this event every year. I am grateful for her support with this event. A special thanks goes out to Bruce Reiss for helping to get WE ROCK under way five years ago! Jill Brown for making the awesome flyers every year! Stacy for helping with sound! Our new members are Sam Younes and Debbie Boylan. Sam has been a music icon here in the Valley for many, many years. We Rock Lineup is finished!
Hey Everyone! I wanted to write up a quick first blog post on this years WE ROCK 2011. The lineup is complete and I am proud to announce the following bands that will be participating in this years show! The Cherry Bombs, The Damn Dirty Apes, Social Call, Slik Helvetika, Bank Street Band, Ambergris, and Jade Scott of Type 14! For our fifth year anniversary, this lineup is off the chart! WE ROCK 2011 will be Sept 10th, at The Maingate Nightclub in Allentown PA. There will be a memorial ride before the show, and we will also be having none other than legendary DJ Hollywood spinning songs between sets. The doors open at 1pm, show starts at 1:15pm and goes till 9pm. Cost for admission is $8 this year. Once again, this is a 21 and over event.
